Before I get started, there are a few things I want to mention to everyone about setting up a car for each track. First of all, the more time you work on a setup, the better it will be. The top Crew chiefs in Nascar work an average of 70 hours a week not including testing, happyhours, and the actual race. So this setup guide is not going to make you fast in 10 minutes but will slowly bring your car to a competitive level.

To make this setup guide work, run at least 10 laps per change to make sure the tire temps are up to normal before you decide what your car is doing. After you run at least 10 laps, now you must know what a push is, and what loose is.

1) Loose/oversteer
Loose means that your ass-end wants to come around on you. You keep having to make right hand steering adjustments in a left hand turn to keep the car from going too low and hitting the apron. You can fix loose with several things in the garage.

2) Tight/Understeer/Push
Tight means that you cannot steer. The car wants to nose into the outside wall. You cannot get through the turns. You find yourself at the steering wheels limit.

My Personal Setup Process
My first priority is to work on the Overall Corner handling, then once I get that to the general area of where I want it I will work on the middle of the corner adjustments. Once this gets to where the car runs nice and stable I will work on the entry of the corner adjustments. Then this is gonna mess the middle of the corner so I will have to rework the middle adjustments and Finally the exit adjustments.
I hope this helps with setting up a car in ARCA.

Please describe how your car feels in the corners:

  Entry
  Middle
  Exit
